We compared the sound similarities and functions of our Jupiter 8 with the new Roland Boutique series synth the JU-08.
Nick brought the Jupiter 8 over to JRR Shop’s showroom to find out if there is a difference in sound quality, character, and function. He also discusses how the JP-08 has a few more synthesis features compared to the original Jupiter 8. Both synths were set to the manual mode and programmed to sound as similar to each other as possible. Then, various changes were made on each such as cross modulation sweeps and filter envelopes to each to compare the sound characteristics of the two synths.
