Roland D-50

The Roland D-50 is one of the most successful keyboard synthesizers of all time. Released in 1987, it introduced a revolutionary new technology called Linear Arithmetic Synthesis (LAS) combined with sampled attack transients. The D-50 excels in making enormous leads and evolving pads, and can be heard on hundreds of records from the last 80's and early 90's. It also features 16 voice polyphony, 6 LFOs, a low-pass resonant filter, ADSR envelopes and full MIDI compatibility. Notable uses include recordings made famous by Eric Clapton, Janet Jackson's album "Rhythm Nation", Enya's track "Sail Away", Jean Michel Jarre, Information Society, Gary Numan, Paula Abdul's track "Straight Up", Terence Trent D'arby's track "Sign Your Name", Ben Liebrand's 1988 remix of Phil Collin's track "In the Air Tonight", and Duran Duran.
