Roland JP-8000

The Roland JP-8000 is an 8 voice analog physical modeling synthesizer keyboard from 1996. It has two oscillators and is 2 part multitimbral. It is Roland's first analog modeling synthesizer which used DSP and not samples. The 38 knob and slider control layout is based on the classic architecture of Roland's most in demand 80's synths such as the Jupiter and Juno series. Its other unique features are the Super Saw oscillator waveform which resembles 7 sawtooth oscillators detuned against each other, the Feedback oscillator waveform, a ribbon controller, effects, and the sparkly indigo surface. It has been used in hundreds of trance tunes and by many late 90's electronica and industrial artists. Watch a demo here.
